Midlife women are in their Own Business Era: 25 for 25
For so many reasons, midlife women are in their Own Business Era.
I’m lucky to know many women who’ve left corporate culture, and are now building and scaling their own thing. Trademarking their IP, working solo or employing and contracting others.
During December, I’m publishing an alternative advent calendar featuring midlife women who’ve decided to be the boss of their own careers.
This series of posts, 25 for 25, features midlife women on the rise. Behind the next door on my alternative advent calendar is content specialist, Willow Paule.
Willow Paule: content specialist
As a content specialist, Willow Paule helps purpose-led coaches and entrepreneurs stay visible and connect with soulmate clients online, without getting stuck on the content creation hamster wheel.
In 2021, Willow got covid. The aftermath has proved complex, with lots of health problems. Now that Willow is dealing with compromised energy levels, it means she’s had to find new ways to work.
Leaning in to her content repurposing skills helped. Willow found that repurposing content made her own marketing messages stronger, while also giving her more time to rest and work on regaining her health. The results hold up for Willow’s clients too - repurposing content gives them better longer term traction.
Willow’s goal is to tell her clients' stories and share their purpose in a distinct, creative way so they can have more. More leads, more connections, more time – to focus on their business, their big goals and (most importantly) so they have more time away from their computer.
2025 is for …
In February, Willow will run round two of her group content creation programme, Content With Friends. Participants show up every two weeks to brainstorm, discuss and critique their content with friends. On each call, there's dedicated time to work out the kinks and learn to write content that connects with their audience.
Willow is excited to get started with this, because she’s found a lot of people who aren't ready to outsource their content, but understand the importance of honing their messaging so their content lands well.
Inspiration & motivation comes from …
Willow jokes that she’s motivated by food, clothes and shelter. Aren’t we all? She also loves working with clients who bring powerful things into the world.
“It feels so good to be part of their success. I get to be creative everyday, and do it all on my own schedule.”
She loves having the freedom to give herself what she needs each day, whether that’s a more structured schedule or a vacation!
Willow’s advice for her younger self
“When I was younger, I often felt like I was slower than my coworkers. And I felt bad about that. Now, I know that I am methodical and I like to make sure that I understand every aspect of my work.”
